Useful Features Increase User Efficiencies

Five Jackrabbit enhancements are featured here.

1. New field in Students Skill Search: “Has No Date Attained”
There is a new field in the Student’s Skills Search page (located under the Students red menu bar). When selected, the results will only display the student’s which haven’t attained the skill.
Prior to the enhancement, there was not a way to get a list of the students with no skills attained. This made it difficult for the staff to identify which students still needed to master skills and be tested.

2. Category 1 Now Required Field in Several Places

Please make a note of the following areas that this requirement impacts:

  • Add Event Type
  • Post Late Fees
  • Post Group Transactions
  • Post Annual Fees
  • Add Class modal
  • Add Class modal from daily and weekly calendars

You will not be able to Save until a Category 1 is selected in these places. Each area will show Category 1 with a red asterisk.

Below is an example when working in Events.

3. The Edit Settings Page Re-Organized
Section labels have been added, two fields have been better categorized and the Calc Future Enroll Date field has been removed. These changes further our efforts to make this page more manageable and more intuitive for users.

 4. Opt Out from Mass Email for Contacts and Students Now Available
Contacts and Students can now “opt out” of being included from Email Families and Email Class. This will not exclude them from e-commerce receipts, email statements or password requests. Both Email Families and Email Class have search criteria to “Include opt out emails: Yes/No”. If Yes is selected, the families who said they wanted to opt out will receive the email. The reason for this setting is to give the user the ability to include these families if it’s warranted – eg, there was a pipe break and the facility flooded. Obviously all families want to know not to come to class that day. This search criteria is defaulted to No.

The Email Listing Report also has this as a search criteria (not a display criteria). Contacts and Students who have the ability to log into the portal can change this setting.

This series of screen shots illustrates the Opt Out feature in several areas.

5. Class Session values can now be marked as “Private”

This means if a session is “private” it will not appear in web reg and portal as filter.

Tips from Customer Support

WOW!!  Support has been BUSY!

We have just finished our two Jackrabbit User Conferences in Charlotte and Las Vegas.  If you have not been to one of our User Conferences, you’re missing out on your chance to meet one-on-one with a support person and learn SO MUCH about Jackrabbit’s features and enhancements from our staff and other users.

Speaking of enhancements - take a moment to look at your enhancements list and recognize the hard work development has done to address some of the most popular requests.

Try/Test some of these new features!  It is easy in Jackrabbit to create a “Test Family” and “Test Student” to play with some of the features development has released. If you think you’re missing out on how enhancements can help you, use your Support Button and ask us!

Now is the time of year you can also schedule a Utilization Review.  At any time if you would like to hold a joint phone/screen call with a Jackrabbit Support person, please email support and request a UTILIZATION REVIEW.  A Jackrabbit Support person will arrange a time to go through your database and answer any questions you have on improving any frustrations or questions you have with using Jackrabbit.

We value your opinion!  We are proud of our support team and the work they do.  If you are ever concerned about the support you receive, please email Jorine Jones, Support Manager with your concerns (jjones@jackrabbittech.com).  We welcome all Feedback.

Tips from Customer Support: Easier Retention Analysis

The Enrollment Detail Report has been enhanced to allow for easier retention analysis!

Now you can get a report of who was enrolled in a previous session, but who is not enrolled in the current or upcoming session.

Here’s how to set your criteria:
Enrolled in Session: Previous session name
Not Enrolled in Session: Current or Upcoming session name
Instructor: Blank (for program-wide retention analysis. Individual teacher names provide analysis by teacher)
Active Classes Only: No
Current Student Status: Blank (to pull in all students who are not yet enrolled in your new session)
Show Enrollments: All (completed, drops)
Enrollment Through Date: Date in your last sessions enrollment period  (to help eliminate having students on the report who dropped out earlier in the year)Show Enrollment Details or Student Summary: Student Summary

Theresa Case of Piano Central comments:

“The enhancement made to Enrollment Reporting is extremely helpful and will: 1) Save me time and 2) Help me keep an even better pulse on my business. In my opinion, this kind of reporting is another huge plus of using Jackrabbit!”
